Bloomberg - The $25 billion settlement with banks over foreclosure abuses may trigger a wave of home seizures, inflicting short-term pain on delinquent U.S. borrowers while making a long-term housing recovery more likely. Lenders slowed the pace of foreclosures as they negotiated with attorneys general in all 50 states for more than a year over allegations of faulty and fraudulent paperwork used to repossess homes. With today’s agreement, banks are likely to resume property seizures. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-09/foreclosure-deal-to-spur-new-wave-of-u-s-home-seizures-help-heal-market.html

We need another Occupy March to WDC! Currently, the small OCCUPY group at McPherson Square in WDC are being prodded to leave their stations. Apparently, President Obama has asked the Park Service not to jostle the protesters, but that seems to have fizzled, and once again, "health" ordinances, and such, have gained the upper hand. I find it bizarre that tents were allowed, only if EMPTY, and only if their doors were kept open, (which is anti-health). Think of the great shanty town protests by MLK's followers, and the Veterans in the 1930's, etc. Was there the same fastidious conrtollaholic obsession with health and welfare back then, enough to tear down the structures? Kind of 1984-ish, if you ask me. Why can't the same so-called "concern" be transferred to the ACTUAL public sphere, into such REAL investments as JOBS and UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE. It's a load of crap, and we all know it.

So, here are a few links on the OCCUPYDC happenings: http://news.yahoo.com/deadline-nears-occupy-camp-near-white-house-141728314.html, http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jan/30/occup-dc-protesters-standoff-police, http://occupydc.org/news/, http://www.correntewire.com/pre_dawn_raid_on_occupydc_mcpherson_square, (november) http://owt.occupydc.org/east-coast-occupiers-march-to-d-c/
